The comedian seems like payback his ex, Ariana Grande hits song, “Thank U, Next” with his own version but instead of an upbeat, poppy tune, which is a Netflix comedy special titled Alive From New York.
We can say that it is a common thing where artists have their outlet, like Ariana Grande’s ex who is the star for Saturday Night Live has channeled his emotions and heartbreak towards the singer into creating something that makes people laugh, albeit at the expense of others like his ex. For him, he views it as a ‘fair game’. Pete explains, “She has, you know, her songs and stuff and this is what I have, okay?”
To be more specific, Pete believes he’s entitled to air out his ‘dirty laundry’ concerning Ariana because she talked about their relationship at great lengths in a Vogue interview and called their engagement such an “amazing distraction”. “Could you imagine if I did that? My career would be over tomorrow if I spray painted myself brown and hopped on the cover of Vogue magazine and just started s**ting on my ex…Can you imagine if I did that s**t?” Based on his explaining, the last part of that joke was in reference to the controversy surrounding Grande’s darkened skin tone on the cover.
The comedian even says that usually there will be side effects for speaking so boldly about an ex among other things, but his ex, Ariana faced none. But instead, Pete said that she went on to win Billboard Woman of the Year for 2018, while he was branded as “butthole eyes”, a moniker which stuck with him. He added, “So sometimes, life is a little unfair.”
He even said that normally after a breakup, a guy can take comfort in the support of his friends, but based on what he experienced with Ariana’s song, “Thank U, Next”, it made him kind of difficult. In addition, Pete’s grandfather and his friends even told him, “Peter, it’s a slap. I’m really sorry. It’s a good song and I don’t even listen to that s**t.”
Besides, to add up more salt to the wound, Ariana even talked about the size of his genitalia. Well, contrary to the popular opinion, Pete thought it was super weird for her to marvel over his sex part.
“I didn’t like it because it’s just simply not true. She has little tiny little hands. She has very little hands, everything’s huge to her. It was a f**king joke the entire time we were dating,” Pete shared. Moreover, Pete claimed that it was such a “genius” really because now every other girl who sleep with him will be “disappointed”.
But a true fact that the 26-year-old comedian admits it his short relationship with the singer made him famous and a household name for no reason.
